First Mennonite Church of Christian Mission Statement

We serve our neighbors as seekers and followers of Jesus Christ, and as people of faith who experience God's gifts of love, grace and salvation. Biblical passage: Luke 10:25-37

Priorities (The things we want to put our time and energy into.)

·         Priority: We (FMCC) cultivate deeper relationships with God.

We do this as we study the Word of God; encourage service as followers of Jesus; grow in our knowledge of God's love, grace and salvation; and offer time and space for worship and prayer to our members and others in our community. Biblical passage: Micah 6:6-8

·         Priority: We respond to community needs and dreams.

We do this as we listen to our neighbors and to each other; do random acts of kindness; learn about the concerns of ``the least of these''; and act spontaneously in service to others. Biblical passage: Matthew 25:31-46

·         Priority: We seek and practice shalom.

We do this as we serve the ``least of these'' in our community and our world; live according to biblical values; work with existing community efforts which are also seeking shalom; and share the good news of God's love and forgiveness. Biblical passage: Jeremiah 29:1-7
